The NSW Early Childhood Environmental Education Network (ECEEN) is a community of educators, families and children striving to create living and learning spaces within our communities that reflect and encourage sustainable practises.

We believe that experiences in our early years provide an opportunity for life strong learning, that our habits of future years will be influenced by the actions of those around us who help us to see, to think, to question and to value our world.

ECEEN  supports NSW Early Childhood communities by connecting services with information, resources and organisations within their community. We run network meetings and forums, lend resources, offer training sessions, and facilitate the development of a community of practise.

Education for sustainability (EfS) aims to promote a sense of responsibility, respect, empowerment, active participation, enquiry and social change. It’s a holistic approach that fits well into quality early childhood settings. EfS recognises the importance of  individual and organizational wellbeing while working with services in areas such as  biodiversity, environmental health and resource use.

NSW ECEEN is a Not for Profit Incorporated Association and welcomes new members.
NSW ECEEN is currently in receipt of a grant from the Department of  Environment and Climate Change NSW to mentor 4 Eco Hubs within NSW Early Childhood.

Become a member today and make use of ECEEN’s supporting services.
Our members only section will access you to free loans of resource material, a question and answer site, shared opportunity to view other members projects, a forum for you to share your work and thoughts with others. Discounted attendance at Net-work meetings and guest speaker events.

Environmentally sustainable projects are highlighted through the annual Sustainable Projects Recognising OUTStanding Practice (SPROUTS) and encouragement awards.  (Click here for a membership form).
