The NSW Early Childhood Environmental Education Network (ECEEN) is a community of educators, families and children striving to create living and learning spaces within our communities that reflect and encourage sustainable practises.
ECEEN believe that experiences in our early years provide an opportunity for life strong learning, that our habits of future years will be influenced by the actions of those around us who help us to see, to think, to question and to value our world.
Education for sustainability (EfS) aims to promote a sense of responsibility, respect, empowerment, active participation, enquiry and social change. It’s a holistic approach that fits well into quality early childhood settings. EfS recognises the importance of individual and organizational wellbeing while working with services in areas such as biodiversity, environmental health and resource use, all wrapped within the pedagogy of Early Childhood.
